Hello dear community,

Finally, the time has come! We have started planning and now want to move into our own home. My husband, our little daughter, and I are currently considering what would be best for us and have already looked around a bit. We find modern prefabricated houses really interesting. There are some great options, but now we’re wondering -> Do these houses live up to their promises? Does anyone have experience they could share with us or tips on where we can find more information? I would be very grateful for any response.

Best regards, Susi84

What do you mean by "modern prefabricated houses"?

Kind regards

There is a nice saying: When you’re hit, dogs bark. You don’t have to take it personally if it doesn’t apply to you.

What do you want to hear, that a 1-liter house sold at a high price according to the brochure actually ended up having triple the predicted energy consumption?

A highly qualified and technically competent answer! That’s all you could come up with? Pretty weak! Well, when the arguments are missing, it gets personal.

Salespeople usually don’t do technical calculations, at best just their commission. Besides, I have never meant all houses!
Read carefully – understand – then respond.
If sufficient planning existed, why don’t the homeowners have it in their documents? For the majority of problem cases I examined:
shrugging shoulders, no idea, is that necessary, oh if only we had known....etc.
If there was no reason for criticism, I wouldn’t have anything to write here!

Yes, apparently the truth really hurts!

I don’t have to watch passively while you disparage an entire profession.

I don’t want to hear anything, by now I know it by heart. But potential clients who inquire here deserve more than your largely stereotypical reply. If you don’t consider a reasonable answer worth the effort – then why are you here?

Daily experienced reality. I don’t know you personally, so I can’t attack you personally.

Most people work for money and recognition – and you?

Then maybe you should reread your replies before hitting send – that would be a good start 😀

You see, that’s the difference between us – I try to help and, when time permits, respond as thoroughly as possible. Criticism without guidance helps no one here – you only create conflicts.

I have emphasized several times that I am not doing that. Is it too difficult for you to understand?
Bauexperte schrieb:

Don’t you think they deserve to be informed about possible problems or defects? I see that very differently. This forum is precisely suited for that—giving advice on what to watch out for before starting. And your supposedly stereotypical answer probably has a reason: a recurring, common, and frequent problem.
Bauexperte schrieb:

Divisions already exist; one just needs to acknowledge them. Guidance has been given, as long as one is willing and able to understand it. However, one can also close their eyes and hope that everything will somehow turn out well and that well-meaning people only want the best.

Best regards.

Construction expert and Euro, you can’t continue your childish petty quarrel via private messages 😡 Dear Susi is so upset that she no longer replies here. I also visited the prefabricated house center in Mannheim and was very impressed. However, we have now decided on a solid (brick-and-mortar) house, mainly because the layout options were a bit more flexible here. In any case, we only had positive experiences in Mannheim and picked up some good ideas and tips.

Wow, there has been quite a lot of discussion and debate. I didn’t expect to get such a big audience *happy*

I was able to take a lot from your answers! Thank you very much for that. I had read an article stating that these so-called modern prefabricated houses can now be customized extensively. That’s why I used this term when asking for opinions here.
