Hello,

It would be really great if everyone here could just post one or a few pictures showing the current state of their house.

I'll start right away.

For renovations, it’s best to provide a comparison of before and after the remodeling.

Before March 2014:

After May 2015:

May I ask which kitchen manufacturer this is and what the front is called?

Oh dear, unfortunately I don’t know the kitchen manufacturer, I’m not sure. We had it made by a kitchen workshop in Mainburg. I’m not sure if I’m allowed to mention names here. The front is a “concrete look.”

I also like the kitchen; for me, there could have been a bit more worktop space. Have you had a chance to try the integrated extractor in the cooktop? Is that the Bora system?

Yes, the kitchen builder had the Bora Cooking Truck, where my partner cooked a lot and tried everything out.

It looks somewhat like the Nobilia Riva front, although that is generally one of the more affordable options. I would be a bit surprised if this were the case in Metalwerner’s house.

The kitchen is not really to my personal taste; something seems to be missing, and the white countertop wouldn’t be my choice. On the other hand, the flooring is very nice— is it parquet or solid wood planks?

I personally really like this concrete look, but I would also choose a dark worktop. The floor is great!

When is the move-in planned?

Nobilia Riva fronts are fine, it doesn’t have to be the most expensive everywhere... I do like the light-colored countertop, but of course tastes vary. I leave the kitchen design completely to my better half. I have no clue about that, I’m a mechanical engineer^^ We are planning to move in within about 4-5 weeks. My goal was to watch the World Cup in the new house, so that might work.
The floor is parquet, glued down firmly.

That’s clear, it doesn’t have to be the most expensive everywhere, AND I can only say that the Riva belongs to a lower price category. But even there, there are fronts that look good; the edge finishing is always important. And color, etc., is definitely a completely subjective matter of taste! For me, the contrast between the countertop and the wall is simply missing. However, this mainly applies to the kitchen peninsula. At the back along the main kitchen run, it works for me!

We also don’t have the most expensive front (simple white) or kitchen, but it doesn’t look cheap and is very easy to clean. I find that much more important, along with ergonomics and storage space :P
