BenutzerPC10 May 2018 16:07We only realized today that, according to the contract, the interior walls in the basement (Ytong) will not be plastered. Somehow we overlooked this or, as inexperienced homeowners, did not expect them to leave a “bare” Ytong block wall in the basement. Especially since there are still gaps between some of the Ytong blocks. We’re not exactly perfectionists, but we would simply prefer a plastered wall that we can paint if needed.
Question: The basement is currently completely built. Does anyone know if: a) the walls will be handed over as they are now, or if any further treatment will be done (e.g. to fill the gaps), and b) what approximate costs I can realistically expect if I hire a plasterer to do this? The area is about 60 sqm (650 sq ft).
We would like to resolve this before the electrician installs surface-mounted wiring.

Here in Bavaria, the price is 16 euros per square meter (E/m2) for lime-cement plaster (gypsum plaster could cause problems with moisture). By the way, plaster is charged based on the square meters of wall surface, not floor area—so be careful, since 60 m2 (645.8 sq ft) in your case will most likely be the floor area of the basement.

because 60 m2 (650 square feet) basement will probably be the floor area for you. No, it is actually the wall area. We have a semi-detached house. Most of it is exterior wall. We have 3 basement rooms. The 60 m2 (650 square feet) figure is about right.
