Hello,

It would be really great if everyone here could just post one or a few pictures showing the current state of their house.

I'll start right away.

For renovations, it’s best to provide a comparison of before and after the remodeling.

Before March 2014:

After May 2015:

No offense, 11ant, but I prefer to trust the three key experts—architect, geotechnical engineer, and structural engineer—rather than getting worked up by the forum.
By the way, everything was carried out precisely according to the recommendations of the soil report.

@munger71: It looks like you have added a significant amount of fill towards the neighbor and the field, roughly 1 meter (3 feet)?

The slope to the left (viewed from the front) needs to be supported by about 2 meters (6.5 feet). To the right, it’s not as critical. You can see this more clearly in the picture below.

What is the height difference between the fill and the natural ground level at your site?

The site is on a slope, and the house is built into the hillside. The terrain rises by about 3 meters (10 feet) from right to left. The garden will be landscaped to create a fairly level area; we have evened it out on the sides and at the back. At the front, due to the second entrance located at the lower right, we did not want or were allowed to make adjustments. We need to provide proof of a total of three parking spaces.

No, nothing else will be added. We had the pool outside for over a year already, and during winter it’s just not very comfortable to go to the pool wearing a bathrobe, especially with snow slush and so on, or when it’s drizzling or raining... That’s why, in front of the pool, we have a large sunroom and in front of that a 2.20m (7 ft 3 in) balcony, to create a bit of an outdoor feeling.

Especially in Iceland, I came to appreciate and love sitting outside in the pool during snow and ice.

But a window is always installed on the raw subfloor or attached to it, right?!
Just to clarify for you again: it was not fully installed yet when I took the photo.
