Hello, we are planning a terrace with Plenera decking boards. Has anyone had any experience with these boards? They were highly recommended to us at the home improvement store. Matthias

That’s not correct. We don’t want to paint them. Using moss remover also keeps them free of moss. My teak on the boat is definitely not smooth and has no grooves at all.

Quote from Betterwood:
Ribbed decking boards: The main advantage of ribbed decking boards is their reduced slipperiness. But is a profiled decking board really less slippery than a smooth one? We found that the board is indeed less slippery across the grain (perpendicular to the profile) compared to a planed smooth decking board. However, along the grain (parallel to the profile), the opposite was true: the ribbed decking board was noticeably more slippery than the smooth version.

So what exactly is the profile of the board?

I would prefer smooth boards as well. But of course, not if I constantly risk slipping or have to be afraid of falling.

Therefore, it's better to use narrow boards without grooves! The grip naturally comes from the gaps... So, we use smooth boards that are 50mm (2 inches) wide made of locust wood... Nothing slips there...

50mm (2 inches) is really narrow. Are there any pictures of it? You first have to find something like that available in oak. I’m afraid the selection isn’t very wide.
What is the price of robinia and where does it come from?

These are 50mm (2 inches) planks. The wood comes from the EU, is harder than oak, and untreated it has a lifespan of 30 years as decking. But the most important thing is that it is not prone to splintering.
Wooden terrace made of parallel planks next to green grass and concrete edge.

Nice. How many square meters (square feet) of terrace do you have?
