Hello,

It would be really great if everyone here could just post one or a few pictures showing the current state of their house.

I'll start right away.

For renovations, it’s best to provide a comparison of before and after the remodeling.

Before March 2014:

After May 2015:

In summer, we had a sunshade under the roof and all the sliding doors open. That made it quite comfortable. The doors on the house are usually all closed in summer anyway.

In the long term, we might add a retractable awning on the roof.

Greetings from the construction site earlier today.

Large concrete structure on the construction site with surrounding walls, window opening, and support braces.

Instead of installing the baseboards in the basement, we spent almost the entire day on the terrace today. I’m always amazed at how warm it gets in the cold conservatory. It actually warmed up the whole house today.

How large is your cold conservatory? I mean length x width?

Thanks in advance!

5x4m (13x13 feet). I don’t think it should be smaller than that. Otherwise, besides the table, there wouldn’t be much space for anything else.

Personally, I would prefer the entire terrace to be like a cold winter garden. But costs, cleaning effort, building permit / planning permission, shading, and so on… that would get expensive and complicated.

The plumbing work has now started, as well as the first two exhaust outlets on the upper floor. They look really strange. We are currently wondering if that might be a cover [emoji848]
Plant room with red piping and gray cables on concrete floor, wall connections visible.

Basement room with red water supply network, vertical and horizontal pipes, gray cable ducts.

Shell interior view: red insulated pipe, gray elbow, flexible metal pipe on wooden stud.

Vertical flexible pipe in a wall with metal studs and insulation on the left.

That is correct. In the end, it will be cut flush with the surface, and then a valve will be installed on it.
