Hello, can someone tell me what this type of dormer is called?

Is there anything to consider with this one? Thanks and best regards!

Thank you for the idea and explanation of its feasibility. A cross gable would then also be possible with a gable like the one in my photo?

I wanted to discuss the dormer with the construction company, but it seems this isn’t easily feasible due to the knee wall. We initially planned for about a 45-degree roof pitch, and then the dormer would supposedly be at a height of 1.20 m (4 feet), which isn’t ideal for a children’s room.

Why don’t you make the small gable like in post9? Although I don’t fully understand what you mean.

You should ask your builder about this. They can explain exactly what is feasible or not, based on a cross-section, and why.
