I want to install a see-through fireplace / tunnel fireplace as a room divider. It will not be water-based but will be independent of the room air.
The common models I have found and heard about all have an output greater than 10kW. This is clearly too much for the house I am planning.
Does anyone have experience in this area or can recommend a stove type with a heating output below 7kW?
Thanks
Maccus

Hello,
These types of designs are rarely efficient unless additional heating surfaces are included. Maybe check with OVI.
Best regards

You can rather have this stove built as a basic storage stove with a long flue path in order to retain as much thermal mass as possible. This way, although you still have the heat output, it is released with a time delay. There are also water-circulating options for basic storage stoves, which are not particularly efficient from an energy perspective but at least function as a kind of “active stove cooling” and transfer the heat not needed in the living area to a storage tank. The additional cost for the heating system is in the range of 1,000 to 2,000 (depending on whether a storage tank is needed at all, possibly somewhat more) and about 1,000 to 2,000 for the water plates. If interested, please send a private message; I still vaguely remember the manufacturer.
