As a home builder, we always strive to be closely aligned with the wishes and ideas of our customers. After all, building a house is usually a once-in-a-lifetime event.
An important aspect of planning a house is the kitchen as the family’s central gathering place.
We would now like to know from you: Which layout do you prefer? An open kitchen with a view of the living/dining area? A closed kitchen with a spacious dining/play area for the whole family? Or a completely different option — for example, a large kitchen island as a social focal point?
We look forward to your ideas, wishes, and experiences, which we will take as inspiration for our work.

How deep is your kitchen exactly?
We only had 5.70 meters (18.7 feet) and I couldn’t fit the kitchen as Willo has it in my planning.
We had to be more creative, and now I’m very happy about that.
Since it looks like your depth is just around 5.50 meters (18 feet), which in my opinion is too tight for a nice island plus a large dining table, I’m sharing mine here.
Don’t be surprised: the fridge is at the top of the plan; the island has a standing area on the right side of the plan.
Here you can see the dining area The kitchen and dining area measures 5.57 meters (18.3 feet) long and 3.38 meters (11.1 feet) wide, see below.
However, we don’t need to fit absolutely everything into the kitchen; rarely used equipment goes into the back kitchen / utility room.
Also, these dimensions only cover the area where we want to place furniture; next to it there is traffic space which is also part of the overall area and makes the space feel more open.
Including the passage, the whole area is approximately 5.57 m x 4.77 m (18.3 ft x 15.7 ft).
Good luck,
Jan

Also, these dimensions only cover the area where we plan to place furniture; next to it is circulation space, which is equally part of the overall area and makes it feel more open.

You misunderstand me. It’s not about any cabinets or the kitchen width. It’s about the depth.
Calculate for the kitchen work triangle:
2 cm (0.8 in) plaster
2 cm (0.8 in) air gap
60 cm (24 in) cabinet run
100 cm (39 in) walkway/work space
90 cm (35 in) island
= 254 cm (100 in) kitchen area depth
That leaves exactly 3 meters (9 ft 10 in) in depth for the dining area.
It might work for you, but it will be tight if you want to serve guests at the table or reach anything in that corner. The circulation space is minimal.
I would advise against a 120 cm (47 in) work space in the kitchen or an island 100 cm (39 in) deep; you’ll need to think a bit more creatively and possibly arrange things diagonally. This is just a note and an option.
Your sliding door can be moved without needing extra space, but you will still have to squeeze past furniture. If the fridge—standing about 5 cm (2 in) from the wall—wants to open its door in that area, it won’t leave much room to maneuver.
If still possible, I would reduce the utility room by at least 30 cm (12 in) so you have enough space for dining. The utility room can handle that — even 60 cm (24 in) reduction would be possible. Otherwise, you might regret it.

The utility room can handle that without any issues—even 60cm (24 inches) reduction would still be possible. Otherwise, you might regret it.I would also recommend that, as the area around the dining table will be very tight otherwise. I would also consider that sitting right next to the refrigerator is not very comfortable since it is not completely silent. I would prefer placing it at the beginning of the kitchen run.

chand198624 Dec 2017 12:10Potato bread is baking right now. Meat for fondue has been sliced: beef, lamb, pork, and chicken. Vegetables include broccoli and cauliflower (the latter lightly pre-cooked). Brown mushrooms.
The sauces are ready: spicy salsa, mild curry-banana, honey-mustard, and aioli.
(I consider dipping mushrooms straight from the hot oil into fresh aioli pure food heaven.)
Salad and dessert will be brought along. Wine and beer are chilled. We’ll be trying a good sake today. Exciting.
I’m already looking forward to it . It’s more important than the presents!
