ᐅ House too warm, underfloor heating controller set to 1.

Hello,

the first four months of "living" in our new home are over. We are very happy to have chosen a ventilation system (Zehnder 450). Our house has a living area of 240 m² (2,583 sq ft) and is heated with gas (Buderus Logamax plus), and there is a solar thermal system for hot water. Additionally, we have a tiled stove in the living room.

I turned on the heating exactly four weeks ago and have been tracking the gas consumption. During this time, 125 m³ (4,413 cu ft) of gas was used. October was rather warm. The rooms tend to be too warm (23°C / 73°F), even though the thermostats for the underfloor heating are all set to the lowest setting (level 1).

The desire to make it "cozy" with the tiled stove just doesn’t arise.

What could be going wrong here?

Best regards,
Barossi

The hot water heating also consumes some energy. You can basically forget about the solar thermal system (ST) starting from October.

Yes, that's correct. From October to March, a house might need about that amount of gas for water heating (100m² (1,076 sq ft)). We are a household of two adults with a small daughter. I stay in hotels three days a week....

Let’s take it step by step. We can still optimize the hot water system.
However, a fundamental mistake was already made with the design temperature set above 40°C (104°F).
Everything gradually.

@Barossi

I did not say that you used the entire 125 cubic meters solely for hot water production, but that hot water production is included in the 125 cubic meters.

Hello,

is it the case that the controllers are then completely off? The floor tiles were partly warm, despite the controller being set to 1.

That’s correct. Therefore, the heating setting doesn’t matter until this is resolved. Maybe the room thermostats with the actuators are wired incorrectly.

Can you still see the flow at the manifold...?
If it gets too detailed right from the start, the original poster will soon give up. That’s why: set everything to maximum and lower the heating curve.

Set domestic hot water only in the morning and evening depending on usage.
