Malz1902Hello everyone,
We plan to tile our bathroom halfway up, 1.20 meters (4 feet) high. The wall construction in front is 1.20 meters (4 feet) high. The floor tile will be placed on top of this wall as a shelf. The question is whether we should also tile an additional 10 cm (4 inches) on the wall behind it. Our site manager said this would make cleaning easier since you wouldn't be cleaning directly against the wall.

The construction manager is right.
Is that a full frame wall? For example, I only have a frame wall around the toilet and the washbasin next to it. Above the frame wall, the tiling continues up to the point where the edge aligns with the tiles above the washbasin.
Trying to upload pictures: unfortunately, it’s not working.

And it’s also nonsense from an aesthetic point of view.
For cleaning, the silicone joint is enough—just wipe it with a cloth using your forefinger. Done.
If you stick another row of tiles above that, you’ll have an edge on top. Comparison: the baseboard (skirting board).
