ᐅ Heating System for New Construction – Which Is the Best Option?

FlohJoeHello,
starting next week, I will be building a single-family house of 180 m² (1,938 sq ft). Many details have already been finalized, but I keep changing my mind about the type of heating. Initially, I was convinced to go with a gas condensing boiler combined with tube collectors. Then I considered an air-to-water heat pump. Now I am leaning towards a pellet heating system. There is also the Vitovalor from Viessmann, which I find interesting—generating electricity myself..
Basically, I want to be as self-sufficient as possible regarding energy supply. So, perhaps an air-to-water heat pump with photovoltaic panels and a water-based fireplace? I’m a bit overwhelmed. Maybe someone here can give me some advice on what is feasible..
Best regards, Florian

Good evening.
Without knowing your building project, it’s difficult to give advice. When it comes to heating systems, there isn’t always a right or wrong choice, but each has its advantages and disadvantages.
Overall, I personally prefer KISS – Keep it super simple.
A basic gas heating system without thermal storage and no photovoltaic panels on the roof. No extras, they just cause trouble!
Best regards,
Andreas

oops...
I didn’t read that sentence so quickly... Then the building permit / planning permission and the energy-saving regulation calculations should already be completed. That also means the heating system is already decided. If you change now, you might as well postpone your construction start by several weeks or even months.
Best regards,
Andreas

What additional information is needed? I'll attach the floor plans.
The entire house will have underfloor heating.
I’m fully in favor. Preferably simple and straightforward. But don’t I have to demonstrate some renewable energy component for the heating? The attic floor is still to come. I don’t have a small PDF on hand right now.

I hadn’t actually read that sentence properly... In that case, the building permit / planning permission and therefore the energy-saving regulation calculations should already be completed. That means the heating system is already fixed. If you change it now, you can expect your construction start to be delayed by several weeks or months.
Regards,
AndreasExactly. But if I understood my architect correctly, I can still change it without any problems?
