bleibt_alles3 Oct 2017 14:36Hello forum. I would like to ask for your help. During today’s site inspection, I noticed that a damaged (cracked) calcium silicate brick had been installed. The crack is visible from both sides and was only filled with white adhesive mortar. Is this considered proper practice, or should we insist on replacing the defective brick? Thank you in advance.

Is sand-lime brick that brittle? My concern was that the cracked brick might not be very load-bearing, but I am not an expert.
So it can be left as is, right?

Is this technically correct Yes.

or should we insist on replacing this defective brick? Bricks are not tiles, and since this is not a visible facing wall, it is not necessary.
