Hello forum. I would like to ask for your help. During today’s site inspection, I noticed that a damaged (cracked) calcium silicate brick had been installed. The crack is visible from both sides and was only filled with white adhesive mortar. Is this considered proper practice, or should we insist on replacing the defective brick? Thank you in advance.

In my opinion, that doesn’t cause any harm.

Exactly. Completely irrelevant.

Thank you for the answers.
Is sand-lime brick that brittle? My concern was that the cracked brick might not be very load-bearing, but I am not an expert.
So it can be left as is, right?

Not brittle at all, this is definitely mechanical damage, but really not serious.

Is this technically correct

Yes.

Bricks are not tiles, and since this is not a visible facing wall, it is not necessary.

Exactly.
