Hello everyone,

We are currently considering whether to install a Velux window directly in the bedroom. The model is GGU S06, made of plastic, with dimensions of 114 x 118 cm (45 x 46 inches).
The cost for this would be 1400€.
The roof window would face north/northwest.
There is a floor-to-ceiling window in the room facing west/southwest.

In my opinion, people are there when it’s dark because it’s a bedroom and people usually sleep at night. Therefore, the 1400,- do not need to be spent on that. Karsten

In our bedroom, we have a roof window and a floor-to-ceiling window, and we do not want to do without them. They provide plenty of natural light, and having two windows allows for excellent cross-ventilation.

However, it is important to ensure that the roof window can be properly shaded in the summer to prevent heat from building up inside the room.

Unlike @Nordlys, I believe that the bedroom is also used during the daytime.
However, the choice of window—whether in the roof or wall—always depends on the room layout. For an L-shaped room or a narrow corridor-like space, two windows may be necessary to bring in daylight from different corners.

Ever slept in a room with a skylight window during rain? You can get used to it (or rather, you have to get used to it).
Is the price including exterior roller shutters? If not, make sure to include them in your budget.

For example, I actually find the sound quite cozy.
