Hello!
It looks like we are building a house with a hip roof. There are various pitch angles that such a roof can have.
We prefer a shallower pitch, like the one on the pink house directly opposite. The more common option seems to be the steeper pitch shown on the house to the left.
The architect already mentioned that the shallower pitch is the more expensive option. Are there any other advantages or disadvantages to consider when choosing between these, aside from possible building permit or planning permission issues?

Can you estimate the roof pitch of the two roofs I posted? No, I can’t... visualizing it will help you a lot. If it looks right to you now, then you have your angle.

Tip: 22 and 30 degrees. I already mentioned that in #8:

The left house probably has a 30° pitch and the right house 22°. and in your “main thread”:

Also keep in mind the visual effect caused by the drawing scale. In reality, your eye level is four meters (13 feet) below the eaves. With a roof pitch under 25°, you won’t see the ridge from the street. .

Then perhaps aiming for something in the middle would be best; what do you think? I could have it visualized. You already have your visualization in your image here on page 1: one at 30° and one at 22°. Do you really still need to visualize — don’t forget: the trickiness of the drawing scale! — what 28° would look like?

R.Hotzenplotz20 Aug 2017 23:50I would try 25°C (77°F) for now. 28°C (82°F) would also be an option, of course.
