Hello,

It would be really great if everyone here could just post one or a few pictures showing the current state of their house.

I'll start right away.

For renovations, it’s best to provide a comparison of before and after the remodeling.

Before March 2014:

After May 2015:

Fleetwood Mac is for softies, I’m sticking with the Rolling Stones. [emoji41][emoji445]

I find it surprising that your houses are allowed to be built so close together.

Work is being done on Saturday. Here are the DIY results. The kitchen glass fiber wallpaper is glued, the ceiling painted old white. The walls will be painted with a silk-matte latex paint over the wallpaper. The tiler worked today and finished the small bathroom, and the landscaper has started the pathway to the front door. The living room walls and those in the other rooms will receive a special technique: Sto plaster base, actually a silicate primer for plasters, is heavily rolled on and then textured wet-on-wet with a brush. The result is a wall structure like in ancient churches or castles. Do you like it?

Interior doors will arrive on Monday so the tiler can install the baseboard tiles. The staircase will be done on Friday, so the hallway will be painted Wednesday with the silicate wiping technique.

Since I restore old churches and castles, I have to say that’s not entirely accurate[emoji3]. Back in the day in the area, we called it brush plaster.

Always these nitpickers.
Anyway, I think it looks very nice.
