Hi,

there are significant price differences between buying tiles from a specialized tile supplier or from a hardware store.

We would tend to go with the hardware store since the construction specification lists 20€/m2 (20 €/sq ft).

What are the differences between them?

Best regards & thanks

Well, you do need to install a glide under the chair. You would do the same with tiles anyway.

No. We are only talking about wood-look tiles. If you want to discuss other tiles, then go ahead.

Ha, here he is, the hero from the strawberry field. Read again—this topic is about quality characteristics. Apart from the frequency of the pattern, no one has mentioned any significant difference between 20 and 80 euro tiles.

What are you nitpicking about?

Decor options were discussed, including their repetition/frequency, sorting (mixing available sizes), surface texture, rectification/calibration for narrow joints, and more.
If you don’t find all this significant enough, please raise your concerns directly instead of trolling here.

No, I wouldn’t do that with tiles. But yes, so far all our chairs have small felt pads on the legs.

I know everyone has different priorities. But appearance is one of the most important and common reasons people buy. And appearance is usually something you pay more for, even if it isn’t justified by production costs or similar factors.

Not because of wear on the tile, but I do care about protecting the chair, and the noise is certainly not negligible if the tiles aren’t perfectly smooth.

Maybe Tomtom is referring to the material. In my opinion, that’s no longer important nowadays; appearance is what matters. I would never consider paying €200 per square meter for marble or something like that because it’s not worth it to me (plus, I find it unattractive). That seems a bit outdated to me.
