ᐅ Hot water towel radiator or electric towel warmer?

Hi, in our house construction, we have installed underfloor heating everywhere. According to some calculation, it was said that we still need a radiator in the bathroom.

I have now emailed the plumber and asked if we could have a towel warmer instead of a regular radiator.

The additional cost would be 75€ + VAT.

That’s not the issue. It is white and curved forward in shape. It is the model "Purmo Flores."

Now I have seen that it is a hot water model connected to the underfloor heating. So it only has a low flow temperature.

Now the question is, does it actually provide enough heat to warm up properly on very cold days when bathing the children? Or would an electric towel warmer be better?

I asked him this and received the following answer:

[I]"The term is loud towel radiator and it is only intended for residual heat generation. It has the same temperature as the underfloor heating but can also be equipped with an electric heating element (90€ + VAT) on request."

Now I just wanted to ask you how you see this? Online it says that for a bathroom with underfloor heating, an electric towel warmer would be more practical.

Tell that to my pregnant wife, or a 3-month-old baby ;-)

Since I have underfloor heating, the radiator is not connected to the water circuit.

So you have a purely electric towel warmer?

I’d like to jump in here...

I also have a towel rail connected to my underfloor heating. In winter, it only gets lukewarm, and in summer it stays completely cold (since the heating is set to summer mode)... Can I simply retrofit an electric heating element like the ones you can buy for around 80-100 euros on a major online platform starting with "A"? There is a power outlet nearby that could be used.

As it is now, it’s useless to me... It measures 1.20m x 60cm (4 feet x 2 feet)... How many watts would I need? Do you have any experience with this?

Edit: I’m wondering if you would then turn it on or not? Since the water from the heating system flows through the manifold, then through the radiator, and back through the return line into the heating system... Wouldn’t you be sending the warmed water back to the heater? And the cooler water flows back in... so it would be a closed loop system... I hope someone understands what I mean… ;-)

The towel radiator would need to be isolated; otherwise, you would effectively be heating your entire house electrically.

My towel radiator is decoupled from the underfloor heating, and the heating element has 600 watts.

Simply turning it off so that only the water currently in the radiator is heated doesn’t work?
