Hello everyone,

for controlling the underfloor heating in our apartment, fairly simple switches from Athe are planned, which only have a dial with a common 1-5 scale. I assume these are also thermostats.
We have never lived in an apartment with underfloor heating before, and I understand that the lead and lag times are different here compared to conventional radiators, but isn’t this control system somewhat outdated? It doesn’t have to be an app right away, but wouldn’t it make sense to have a bit more control options even with underfloor heating?
Best regards

Hello, no, that is completely sufficient for a single-family house or semi-detached house. Since you can control the system with the heating control. We have the main rooms set to the maximum level and only slightly adjust the temperature down in the secondary rooms.

When it comes to underfloor heating, less is more...

Thank you.
The system in the basement also handles the night control, so you probably only need to set once per room how warm it should be relative to the others, right?
There is probably no thermostat inside the switch either?

We did the same for a while. Then our heating technician pointed out that our actuators consume electricity when set to "open."
After that, we simply removed them and turned the controllers down to 1.

However, there are actuators that apparently consume no power when "open," but do so when in the "closed" position.

Does an actuator only consume electricity when it operates? I would have expected that if it doesn’t need to open or close, it uses no power at all!?
