Hello everyone! I’m new here and have a question right away ;-) According to the land registry office, we are currently in first place for our preferred plot. However, the staff member said this still needs to be officially approved by the committee before we get the confirmation. Can anyone tell me how likely it is that this will actually happen? Is it basically just a formality now? I’m so impatient ;-D

Many thanks for your reply! Unfortunately, I don’t know if it will go exactly like that. The city has set the criteria for awarding the land, that’s true. I have also wondered what arguments they might use to deny us the plot. The committee meets on July 11, so I guess I will have to be patient until then.

I think the fact that there are measurable award criteria at all significantly reduces favoritism. In case of doubt, the results can be verified. Although not perfect, this approach is miles more transparent than "first come, first served," where half is already gone before the deadline even starts...

This is increasingly mentioned these days in municipal presentations of residential developments: that, for example, local residency, children under 12 years, etc., move applicants up a “rank” within the pool of candidates.

It will be unavoidable that council members get to know a little earlier when and where a new housing development will be established.

It should be a straightforward formality.
You own 99% of the land.
