Hello everyone.

I am new here and would like to ask who has built a prefabricated house using a timber frame construction method?
Are you satisfied?
Which company did you choose, and if so, why?
I have been looking into this for some time now and am undecided between two companies.

Thank you in advance

As soon as Frau Ungeduld has addressed any remaining questions, I will be happy to respond. Additionally, World-e has replied that a timber frame house from a local carpentry company would be their choice, with a reasoning that, although much shorter than mine, was provided.

Phew, this is really exhausting.
I have been thinking about this and gathering information for months.

Haas and Hanse are our favorites. I just wanted to know if anyone has had good or bad experiences with these companies.

How silly of me not to take your forum name literally.

I'm out of here.
Thanks to those who genuinely wanted to help.
I thought this was a forum for adults.

Unfortunately, I don't have much to say about the manufacturers. I only know that there are several Haas houses in our village because the sales manager lives here. Unfortunately, all the Haas houses have become very green and dark on the weather-exposed side (after a very short time), so I would definitely raise this issue with the sales representative. The houses were certainly not from the budget range. Perhaps Haas has changed the composition of their exterior render, and this is no longer a problem, or maybe you can get a different one for a small extra cost. I would be really upset if I paid that much money and had such a "decayed" wall after only three years.

This effect occurs more frequently on ETICS (external thermal insulation composite systems) facades than on monolithic ones. It apparently cannot be completely prevented but can be reduced by applying a thicker layer of render on the wall.

It is – even though sometimes they have to be as patient as poor Judith82, who is stuck in an endless argument about controlled residential ventilation systems.

You started your thread awkwardly: if you really only want to know which is better, Haas or Hanse, then the title "Timber Frame Construction – Which Company is Good?" wasn’t ideal. Also, responding to the follow-up question about how many others you know beyond these two – whether this is your entire comparison scope or already a selection (according to which criteria?) – would have been quite helpful, also to satisfy your impatience.

If I didn’t immediately realize that your forum name should be understood as a kind of “overarching headline,” I take full blame for that.

That everyone here really wanted to help, I don’t just claim for myself, but also for all my fellow contributors.

What exactly did you expect: that several of us here have already built two houses each, one with Haas and one with Hanse, and could then provide you with a nice pros-and-cons comparison chart?

Impatience can sometimes be exhausting. By the way, for the others, too.
