House Design
Who did the planning: architect, own ideasArchitect? – Structural engineer. Ideas: I don’t see any – or is simply moving the chimney flue already considered an “idea”?
The plans seem like a thoughtless patchwork. The house can’t decide: on the entrance side, the projecting dormer has a flat roof, while on the garden side there is a gable. It’s like spending half your vacation at the seaside and the other half in the mountains. The basement looks like it was just drawn onto an original design without a basement and leaves an unfinished “Room 1” on the ground floor. The children’s bathroom right next to the master bathroom shares the same issue. If the master bathroom had access from the bedroom, both rooms would make more sense, and the children’s bathroom could then be extended to replace the current master bathroom door. Whoever gets out of the bathtub must be at least one head shorter than the person who showers in that bathroom. I interpret the room divider between the kitchen and dining room as a load-bearing wall based on the wall thickness – but then both the beam and lintel lack support on the living room side, structurally and visually. The narrower dining room window appears to be shifted according to the dimension line – but not consistently aligned with the table axis (?)
The creativity of this design reminds me of a déjà vu from a thread started two months ago about resistance to advice: https://www.hausbau-forum.de/threads/erster-entwurf-grundriss-efh-ca-200qm-bitte-um-feedback.18830/ – which also featured a guest room in the basement; and your “Ground Floor Room 1” was the pantry there. Would you have such a neat “ladder to the attic” without a knee wall then? ;-)

I think the design looks quite good now, considering what you shared before. The rooms are clearly organized and functional.
I won’t comment on the basement since I don’t have a connection to it.
I also like the bathroom.
I think the children’s bathroom is great as well. In my opinion, bathrooms should avoid unnecessary angled details. Straight layouts give a bathroom a refined look—an angled toilet does not.
Perhaps, as an alternative in the kitchen, a kitchen island could be an option, with a small countertop attached for quick meals?
Best regards

Marvinius30 Apr 2017 23:52Regarding "Room1," I agree with 11ant; we also planned a basement later on, and then the ground floor becomes problematic where the utility room and guest toilet were originally planned. This also needs to be reconsidered.
