Hello everyone.

I am new here and would like to ask who has built a prefabricated house using a timber frame construction method?
Are you satisfied?
Which company did you choose, and if so, why?
I have been looking into this for some time now and am undecided between two companies.

Thank you in advance

I have already visited the company Haas in person. My subjective impression was that it is a top-quality company. However, I cannot speak about the quality, as I am not interested in a prefabricated house. We were there only because of the model home park.

As some people here are slowly losing it, there's honestly nothing but utter nonsense to read...

Your floor plans have been discussed many times in the green section here, and your resistance to advice stood out even more than the roof of the Flair

If we were resistant to advice, we would be building a cheap guaranteed-construction house now with bedrooms only 2.70m (9 feet) wide, two tiny peek windows in the living room facing the garden—one of which would be completely blocked by the sofa—and a wall construction that combines the disadvantages of monolithic and external thermal insulation composite systems (ETICS).

Fortunately, we are not doing that because we have learned a lot. Looking back, my first 200–300 posts were pretty bad, but you have to learn first.

I think it’s perfectly reasonable, and there’s no need to turn up one’s nose, if someone wants to build relatively affordably. Here in Bavaria, just the land alone is so expensive that it often isn’t enough for an architect-designed house. In that case, it could also be Flair113. If someone is satisfied with that, then that’s completely fine.

We don’t know what the original poster envisions; this discussion has already grown to six pages, but unfortunately, we still haven’t received any feedback from her.

I believe both companies she mentioned offer solid solutions; it really depends on what she has in mind. For a custom-designed house, it’s certainly worth looking at local providers as well. If she wants a standard design, she is probably better off with a large, nationwide company. There are certainly more options beyond the two providers she named, and I would definitely consider looking at those too.
But maybe she has already done that and the two companies remain on her shortlist after thorough consideration, and she’s simply asking for our opinion on these two providers.

At this point, everything we do is speculation. I would wait for another statement from the original poster about exactly what she needs and wants.

Concrete discussions, if at all, take place in the moderated subforum. However, even there, it is not a lawless zone, so negative posts without evidence are not allowed to remain.

I recommend Mrs. Ungeduld to browse construction blogs and diaries – they contain the experiences of homeowners.

Best regards in brief

Unfortunately, I can’t say much about the manufacturers. I only know that there are some Haas houses in our village because the sales manager lives here.

Unfortunately, on all the Haas houses, the weather-exposed side has become very green and dark (after a very short time), so I would definitely address this issue with the seller. These houses were certainly not in the low-cost category. It’s possible that Haas has changed the composition of its exterior render and that this is no longer a problem, or that you can get a different one for a small additional cost. I would be really upset if I had to pay that much money and after three years had such a “decayed” wall.
