ᐅ Which rimless toilet should I choose? Subway 2.0 or Icon Rimfree?

Since we are officially allowed to discuss products here, I’m curious to know which toilet you prefer? Of course, other brands are welcome too, but we definitely want a toilet with either an open rim or rimless design. There are still models from Duravit (DuraStyle) or Laufen (Pro), but we don’t like their appearance, purely subjective. The Keramag Renova Rimfree also doesn’t suit our taste visually. I’m not sure if there are other brand-name products that are either rimless or have an open rim.
The Subway 2.0 and the Keramag Icon Rimfree look quite similar and both appeal to us. After favoring the Subway 2.0 for a long time, we are now leaning more towards the Keramag Icon Rimfree. The reason is that it is truly rimless, while the Subway 2.0 has an open rim.
What did you buy and why? Which of the two do you think is better and why?

I’d like to share our experience with a rimless toilet:
Toto Tornado Flush
My wife is still very pleased after 1.5 years because it 1. flushes very effectively, 2. is relatively easy to clean, and 3. doesn’t splash water outside (not even onto the toilet seat).
I mention the last point because a friend of ours regularly complains about her rimless Keramag toilet (almost 2 years old), where water frequently splashes outside during flushing. It has reached a point where she definitely wants to replace the toilet in the future. I have read that Keramag has been working on fixing this issue.
Negatives about the Toto:
- It was very expensive (tears in my eyes)
- You should use the original toilet seats (I’m not sure if this recommendation applies to other brands as well)
PS: The name of the toilet is quite accurate. The flush actually creates a vortex (like a tornado). The Japanese really know their toilets.

Hi,
We have two Keramag Icon units, and nothing spills over. Neither when "filling" nor when flushing.
We chose the Keratec coating, also on the sinks. It is indeed somewhat easier to clean, but it’s no miracle cure.
According to the seller, the Keratec coating is one of the few—or the only one on the market—that is permanent, as it is fired multiple times. No idea if that’s true.
So far, very satisfied.
Best regards,
Andreas

Are there any experiences with toilets without or with an open rim? Does the Keramag Icon really prevent any splashing? Is it worth choosing a ceramic coating like CeramicPlus from Villeroy & Boch or a glaze from Keramag?
Best regards,
Sabine We have the Joyce from Villeroy & Boch with Direct Flush and CeramicPlus. We only flush with the lid closed; otherwise, a few splashes can land on the seat. However, the coating is really excellent, as nothing sticks to it. Even after 2 years of use, everything still looks like new. And you no longer need harsh or corrosive cleaners.
