Hello,
I'm not at that stage yet, but I've been wondering for a while. What exactly is the difference, and which one is better suited for a single-family house? Because right now, among my friends and family, one is working with an architect and another with a structural engineer...

Please keep in mind that a good architect can create a well-designed (and functional) floor plan. This can save a significant amount of money due to a more efficient layout.
The first conversation with a structural engineer:
“Did you bring a floor plan? I can build that...”
Especially in phases 1 to 4, it is truly possible to save money, and these phases should be carefully planned.

And what costs [...] are we talking about for a single-family house in each case? This is defined by the official fee structure for architects and engineers (HOAI), which depends on the project (a more expensive, larger house costs more; also whether it is detached or fitted into a gap in the building line makes a difference).
Simply put: more expensive house, higher planning costs.
The most expensive architect is the one you try to "save" on.

(only the permit-ready plan without construction supervision)As far as I know, only the architect is obligated to provide you with the "permit-ready plan."

Is negotiable for a single-family house,Yes, the HOAI is a framework; negotiating is allowed.

MIA_SAN_MIA__16 Apr 2017 22:06Is there a rough estimate for a typical detached single-family house of about 190 sqm (2,045 sq ft) with a basement?
I am currently focusing on these basic questions, but I am also interested in the cost to eventually be able to prepare a budget plan.
