Hello everyone,
I am currently considering which video door entry system to buy for our single-family house on a hillside.
I find the video feature very useful since our living and dining area is located in the basement, so you don’t have to go upstairs every time the doorbell rings.
There are many versions on the market, and unfortunately, they vary significantly in price.
Do you have any recommendations on which ones to buy?
What do you think about this one?

In any case, the decision is more difficult than expected...

Hello everyone,
This topic is currently on my mind a lot.
We are looking for a video intercom system for a single-family home, with a fixed station inside the house that can also be operated via an app. So, we want to be able to see the video, speak, and open the door—all from a smartphone or tablet.
The system itself can be hardwired, with app control over the Wi-Fi network.
What I do not want is for the camera’s video feed to first go through some external server before reaching our devices. I am concerned about the delay, as I have read that it can sometimes be as long as 30 seconds. This seems to be an issue with well-known brands like Siedle, Busch-Jaeger, and others.
How is it with GOLIATH?
For us, using the app outside of our own Wi-Fi network is secondary, although I assume that feature is included anyway.
I would be very grateful for any experiences regarding the app and video delay, or any tips!
Good luck
Daniel

IP-based systems are best suited for this purpose. For example, we use the 2N IP Verso. There is also an indoor touch station available for use inside the house. Everything is wired via network cable, and power can be supplied either through PoE (Power over Ethernet) or a separate power line.
The device offers a wide range of features; for instance, it can be connected to SIP-enabled telephone systems (e.g., FritzBox) and integrated into other environments via web services. Additionally, there are various add-on components such as RFID, NFC, and keypads. There is also a smartphone app available.
In terms of price, it starts at about €800 (approximately $860) for the basic outdoor unit with camera and €700 (approximately $755) for the indoor unit, which is still below comparable systems from Siedle and Gira.
