Hello
We are about to finalize a contract with a well-known construction management company. We are deciding between double-glazed or triple-glazed windows. Since we are considering window muntins (grilles), we were advised to choose double glazing because the muntins reduce the thermal performance (U-value) of triple glazing, and the extra cost for triple glazing is not financially worthwhile.
Do you have any tips, advice, or opinions?
Thank you

With muntins or without? And if yes, which ones?Definitely without
I guess it only really matters whether the glazing is double or triple because of energy efficiency.
The muntins themselves don’t affect that, only the window quality does?!
Best regards, in short

Besides that, a window with 3x3 continuous muntins, resulting in nine individual window "panes," costs more than twice as much as a single large pane without muntins. Applied decorative muntins are comparatively very inexpensive.

Opponents of triple glazing often say that it lets in too little light, which can mean, for example, that plants don’t thrive as well.

The applied decorative muntins are relatively inexpensive.Unfortunately, we found that glued-on muntins are significantly more expensive than internal ones because a spacer is placed between the glass panes along the muntins. This means glued-on muntins are essentially redundant and twice as costly. Unless you mean those glued-on later yourself from eBay. But if so, it should be done properly.
But we are getting off-topic.
