Hello,

we are currently building a semi-detached house 6m (20 feet) wide. With a traditional room layout, the sofa would be placed along one wall and the TV cabinet on the opposite wall, resulting in a viewing distance of about 5m (16 feet). Please see the image below!

How have you arranged your sofa and TV stand optimally for such distances, or should I plan for a 65-inch monster TV?

Thank you!

However, from a distance of 5m (16 feet), I still notice a difference between 4K and Full HD. Just tried it with Netflix.

@willow okay, that might be true for 70 inches. I have attached an overview...

Table: TV sizes from 22 to 43 inches with recommended viewing distances.

Table with inch sizes from 47 to 65 and corresponding measurements in cm and m.

OK, I can already see that my 46-inch TV might end up in the bedroom, or I will need a 60-inch one for the living room "public viewing."

That fits perfectly into the chart...

55 inches and a distance of 4 meters (13 feet).

Although...

However, there are severe black bars on the left and right sides.

That doesn’t improve things much either.
