Hello everyone,

I’m new to the forum and would appreciate your advice.

We have a plot of land where we want to build. Not a prefab house! It needs to be custom-designed since there is already a house on the property, so the available space is limited. We want to build a single-family home of about 130sqm (1400 sq ft).

We would like a company that can provide the architect, structural engineer, carry out construction, and so on—a complete package from planning to execution! Can anyone recommend one or more companies that operate in Hamburg?

Right now, we have no idea how to start the planning process.

Thank you in advance.

Yes, I can do that. Kage in Hohenlockstedt near Itzehoe is quite large and can be customized.
Stoll in Schleswig Schuby also has a branch in Hamburg. Also quite large and customizable.
Team Massiv in Büdelsdorf is the real bargain, but probably fully booked to the brim. They mostly offer standard options, if something fits your needs...
I think three options are enough for now.

It depends a bit on whether you are looking for a more affordable or a premium provider.

Otherwise, here are a few companies that all offer custom planning:

- Elbe-Haus
- Roth Massivhaus
- Breyer und Seck
- Eco System Haus
- Viebrockhaus
- Haus Compagnie

Take a look for yourselves and get a feel for which type of provider suits you best.

If you want to build in the southern part of Hamburg, also check out Wito from Buchholz or Mittelstädt Haus from Himmelpforten.
Mittelstädt was our favorite, and I have to say everything was smooth and handled by one single company.
I was really cautious about the whole house-building process, but for us and some other acquaintances it went really well.

Where roughly in Hamburg are you planning to build?

If you don’t like prefabricated houses, that is a good reason to avoid them. However, the fact that there is already a house on the site is not a reason against it. Even infill plots and prefabricated homes are not mutually exclusive.
