Hello everyone,
I would like to share the current status of the renovation planning for my two bathrooms and would greatly appreciate any improvements, ideas, or feedback.
It was important to us to design the bathrooms so that they feel warm and cozy.
The larger bathroom (yellow fixtures) is on the upper floor and will only be used by us (man, woman, and a 2-year-old child). The smaller bathroom (red fixtures) is on the ground floor and will also serve as a guest bathroom/guest toilet… so, enough talking, here are some photos and the planning images.
We have family members who are heating engineers, plumbers, bricklayers, and electricians, so we can plan somewhat more creatively without exceeding our budget.

My wife is eyeing one of those Raindance showerheads... It’s crazy how much they charge for them... 1500 euros is definitely not the upper limit... And all that for just a showerhead...

That’s nothing 🙂 Our Raindance cost 4200 euros 😉 they are really crazy... but it’s just so great

That’s crazy.... I need to do some research on what makes these things so special, but basically, it’s just water coming out, only a bit more focused than from other showerheads...?
Are there any other improvements to my plan that come to your mind?

Ours has lights and several water outlets, for example also a "jet" or "mist" function. For the jet, you need a significantly larger water supply and drainage 🙂 These costs are additional.

Phew, you really can give someone a scare – I actually thought these examples were meant to show how it’s supposed to look or, since they are real photos, that you had already finished renovating. 😀

I have a suggestion: you could raise the partitions in the showers a bit higher… maybe create a small shelf up there. On one hand, water and many shower products tend to collect there, and on the other, a straight shower partition looks better.

Also, I would leave the front beneath the washbasins open to the floor tiles. It looks more spacious when the floor is visible, the fronts look more elegant and appear to float if they are made shallower… but most importantly: it gives the feet space to stand there 🙂

Best regards, Yvonne

P.S. For the guest toilet, the colors feel a bit too cold to me

I’m sure it’s wonderful to shower in, but the 5,000+ EUR cost for the entire system is well beyond my budget for the shower. However, a large ceiling-mounted shower panel might be a good “poor man’s” alternative...?

I’d suggest raising the half-walls in the showers a bit... maybe include a small shelf at a higher level.
On one hand, water and many bath shampoos tend to collect there; on the other, a straight shower partition looks better.

It looks more spacious when the floor is visible, and the fronts look more elegant and seem to float when designed thinner... but most importantly: it gives the feet space to stand there 🙂

Thank you very much for the great suggestions.
We will implement the idea of the floating base cabinets (similar to the small guest toilet).
I need to digitally model and review the idea of raising the walls in the showers, as I find it hard to imagine how that would look right now.

The overall color scheme in the small bathroom is indeed somewhat cooler. What colors (wall paint, wall tiles, and floor tiles) would you recommend?
