Hello everyone,
Are there any recommendations on whether and which types of wood can be mixed inside a house? What combinations work visually together and which definitely don’t? Or is it entirely a matter of personal taste? We are considering using a solid laminated wood ceiling (softwood, exact type currently unknown). So far, an oak floor (wood color) is planned for the living area. The staircase is made of beech wood, and the hallway will probably be tiled. Are there any no-go’s when mixing wood types, or does it also depend on whether the woods are stained or treated in some way?
Thank you very much

If you don’t have or like a country house style, I would immediately dismiss it! What exactly do you mean by that? When would you dismiss it? If it is done the way I described?

Standard means anything from 240 to 260 I don’t yet know how thick the ceiling will be. We have another appointment scheduled. The finished ceiling height will be 2.45 meters (8 feet), so not particularly high.

I’m not sure yet how thick the ceiling will be. We have another appointment coming up. The finished room height will be 2.45m (8 ft) – so not particularly high. I’m assuming that’s measured to the bottom edge of the beams. We have 243cm (8 ft) plus another 12cm (5 inches) from the beams. That still makes it feel sufficiently high.

Yes, up to the lower edge. However, it won’t be a beam ceiling where the beams are deeper than the rest of the ceiling. So what then? The classic formwork boards? That would probably feel quite oppressive given the ceiling height.
With a room height of 2.45 meters (8 feet), I can’t imagine having a wooden ceiling; it would feel very oppressive. Even with a white ceiling, 2.45 meters (8 feet) doesn’t feel high enough to me. A spruce ceiling definitely has a country house style, so you should really like that.
