Hello.
I am interested in buying a house in Hungary, which shows the cracks documented in the photos – for better visibility, each respective link can also be clicked.

Here are some key details I have learned about the house:
- Approximately 60 years old (built around the mid-1950s)
- The roof was replaced about 10 years ago (around 2006), including rafters and tiles
- In the Google Street View from July 2014, the cracks are already visible – without significant change in the last two and a half years

Inside the rooms, there are also cracks everywhere, mostly parallel to the ceiling, but also some larger cracks near doors, which I believe were more diagonal. There are also many cracks in the ceilings. Unfortunately, I was not able to take any photos of the interior walls and ceilings.

Do these cracks look like they could affect the structural stability?

I would be very grateful if someone could provide expert advice regarding these cracks.

Thank you very much in advance.

Do you only buy based on pictures, or have you ever been on site?

Maybe with someone knowledgeable in the subject.

I took the photos myself yesterday. Unfortunately, I don’t have anyone with expertise in this area – and a professional expert (architect, structural engineer, etc.) is probably quite expensive. Is there anything that can be interpreted from the photos, or what should I pay attention to during the next site visit?

What kind of argument is "quite expensive"?

You wouldn’t buy a washing machine for 300 euros anyway.

The problem is that I don't know anyone here in general and I am not proficient in the language. Therefore, I thought I might find some support in this forum.
