Hello,
the range of staircases is very large, and we don’t like the yellow-orange colored beech staircases so much. Which staircase did you choose, and are you satisfied with it?
Best regards,
Sabine

I can’t believe that holds up without bending? Are the steps connected to each other? It’s rock solid. The steps are connected, though. You can probably see it better here. Otherwise, each step is anchored to the wall with two bolts, and the railing supports the remaining weight in the middle.

I’m not a fan of granite stairs either. To me, they always feel somewhat cold and uninviting, and I also immediately associate them with apartment buildings. We have the same granite flooring both downstairs and upstairs in the hallway. Visually, it works well.

There must be a reason why... in a multi-family building, no one would consider installing a wooden staircase. In a multi-family building, hardly anyone walks around in socks. The area for dirt and shoe changes is usually located beyond the staircase. In a single-family house, it’s generally situated before the stairs. Therefore, the requirements for the staircase are fundamentally different.
Beech flooring on a concrete staircase, hard wax oiled, with white wooden risers... Absolutely no creaking at all. We have two of these staircases. When walking, I dislike cold flooring or any sensation of movement. Everything is firmly glued down and sealed. (Open staircases in a stairwell like ours would mean a dust and dirt rollercoaster down to the basement.)
