So, now for clarification 🙂 The room labeled Child 1 is intended to become the office.

Understand that if you want to. Unfortunately, I don’t. Which architectural style do you prefer now? My comment about the 80s/90s wasn’t aimed at the house shape – there are aspects (which I mentioned) that should simply be reconsidered to see if they fit today’s standards. However, the staircase fits very well with the old villa style, but not with modern design. This justifies my comment when discussing modern architecture. Since there are no elevations at all… 🙄

Now I’m confused: where exactly is the office??? 🤨

Dear Forum, I would like to ask for your opinion on the ceiling heights. Are 246.60 cm (97 inches) clear ceiling height on the ground floor and upper floor, as well as 230.00 cm (90.5 inches) in the basement, sufficient? Thank you very much for your feedback!

You can’t be serious, right? In my opinion, 230 cm (90 inches) is acceptable for a basement, but anything below 250 cm (98 inches) is completely unacceptable for the ground floor and upper floor.

A height of 246 cm (97 inches) will feel very, very cramped, especially considering the living room size. I would recommend aiming for at least 260 cm (102 inches).

One more thing about the stairs: with a 200 m² (2,150 sq ft) house, there should be space for either a straight staircase or a staircase with a landing. Not some winding design like that...

Best regards,

Andreas

I also think that 246 cm (8 ft) is far too low, especially for the huge room on the upper floor. It will probably have a very negative impact. I would have the walls built at least half a brick higher.

2.46m (8 ft 1 in) is far too low; this only works for small rooms. For your large living space, it should be at least 2.60m (8 ft 6 in), preferably even higher.

And the other question .. have you made any changes to the floor plans?
