Hello,

is it actually irrelevant for soundproofing what material the house is made of? Because usually, the standard window with less than 40 dB is almost always weaker than the wall itself.

Does a good dB value for a specific wall construction even provide any benefit?

49 dB for the glazing. Depending on the size of the element, meaning the ratio of the frame to the glass pane, the overall value of the entire unit decreases by another 1-2 dB. It’s all pointless if the roller shutter box is not upgraded with appropriate sound insulation as well. Each window has become about 230 EUR more expensive because of that. Considering a period of 30+ years, I think this is still affordable.

The profile is from Kömmerling, with a construction depth of 88mm (3.5 inches).

Building expert, I don’t quite understand the question...

OK Kömmerling profile – thanks
Ordered locally from a window manufacturer or online / abroad?

A local window manufacturer produces windows using profiles. Whether these are also available online... probably. There are also profiles with greater installation depths; for example, Veka offers 90 mm (3.5 inches). However, the deciding factor is the glazing.
