ᐅ Parapet Height for Windows, Balconies & Railings – What to Consider?

CurlyIf the window sill is built during the shell construction, it is done in steps of 12.5cm (5 inches). If the sill is built up to 1 meter (39 inches) high and approximately 18cm (7 inches) for the floor structure (screed with underfloor heating, ventilation system, flooring) is subtracted, this would result in a sill height of 82cm (32 inches). If that is too low for us, we could build it half a brick higher, resulting in a sill height of 94.5cm (37 inches). Is that correct, that you can only choose between these two measurements? We would actually prefer 90cm (35 inches), but I guess that’s not possible, right?

You can choose almost anything freely. However, this costs the mason extra time and often additional materials, so an additional charge is applied here. The same applies to arbitrary ceiling heights or the knee wall. Anything that needs to be cut is comparatively expensive.
You should keep in mind that a window also has a frame, and the higher the window sill, the smaller the window will be, unless you have built a higher ceiling.

We wanted to extend the countertop in the kitchen up to just below the window (without a windowsill), and since the countertop is planned to be 92 cm (36 inches) high, the window sill height would also need to be at this level. What is the standard window sill height?

What is the standard height for a window sill? That would be one window and is now standard.
Your building authority should ask about this – you might even need a kitchen layout at the rough-in stage (that was the case for us).
