In Bavaria, there has been a mandatory smoke detector requirement for over two years, and compliance is checked by, for example, the chimney sweep to ensure smoke detectors are installed.
I researched extensively and sought advice both from the fire department and my electrician, and each recommended this smoke detector:
Werbelink entfernt durch @Neige
– Smoke alarm based on the scattered light principle
– 10 + 1 years product lifespan
– Built-in 10-year lithium battery (Panasonic)
– Suitable for bedrooms, no distracting LED blinking
– German version, approved only for Germany
I have been using this unit in our house for three years now and am very satisfied so far!

I was about to buy some... Darn.Don’t you have any yet? As far as I know, the electrician is usually required to install them in a new build...
