I also tried the website.
The expert search shows quite a few categories starting with "construction."
I tried a few using postal codes 33 or 44.
I was shown experts from Berlin and other locations much further away.
So either the search function is quite poor, or they don’t have a good selection of construction experts.
If I enter just "construction" as the subject area, I get some better results, but then for example, heritage preservation or roofer appear, but no building surveyor.
Ultimately, you could call them directly—it might work better than the search, which could be outdated.
Alternatively, I have found success with the Homeowners’ Protection Association, where experts charge a nationwide flat rate of 85€/hour.
You can also get non-binding initial advice over the phone about the process and expected costs.
I also plan to contact TÜV and Dekra to see how their services compare.

If I enter just "construction" as the field, I get some better results, but then, for example, historic preservation or roofers appear, but no building surveyors.
In the end, you could call them directly; maybe that works better than the search, which might be outdated.
Alternatively, I have already found what I needed with the Homeowners’ Protection Association. Their experts charge a nationwide rate of 85€/hour.
You can also have a non-binding initial phone consultation to get information about the process and costs.
I also plan to contact TÜV and Dekra to see how it works with them. My search was similar. There was nothing to find in the postal code areas 44 or 48. But as you said, there’s always the good old phone call.

Sebastian
I am currently looking through the websites of Dekra and TÜV.
I noticed that the construction company we have been in contact with is certified by TÜV. What do you think about that? Could this replace the building supervisor that I, as the client, would normally hire? After all, in this case, the client is the construction company, even if the costs are passed on to me as the building owner.

I have already had a conversation with a company like that.
On one hand, their approach is to increase trust through external inspections while still offering everything from a single source.
Since it involves TÜV, one can generally assume a certain level of independence.
On the other hand, the company probably knows the TÜV inspector personally, and they might be on a first-name basis.
If the inspector does their job properly, they should remain objective (at least in theory).
Ultimately, I think it also depends on the individual person themselves.
Intuitively, I wouldn’t consider another expert necessary. However, I would clarify whether this TÜV inspection is eligible for subsidies, especially if a KfW55 standard is desired.
