Hello everyone,
we could have a laundry chute installed in the new house, but everyone advises against it. Most say that, compared to the benefit, it is simply too expensive. Should we listen to this advice, or what do you think?

Our architect has planned a small utility room for the washing machine and dryer on the upper floor. Laundry is generated for us in the upper floor bathroom and children's rooms. Most items, probably out of convenience, go into the dryer. However, in the ground floor utility room, we have still arranged for the connections for a washing machine.
No, that is not an issue with a modern machine and good doors – I neither hear nor feel anything here. It was definitely different 50 years ago with the old machines.
A laundry room directly on the sleeping floor is by far the most practical setup – the next best option is a laundry chute.

Okay. We also have a mat underneath, but I can hear the machine during the spin cycle even with the door closed. I was just curious – maybe there are special measures for this. We have hollow core doors. Next would be the solid core door – do you have those in front of your utility room on the upper floor?
