Hello,
We are planning to install a flush-mounted radio in our bathroom. Does anyone have experience with the radios from Busch & Jäger or Gira? Are there any other brands that are recommended?

Most home builders choose well-known manufacturers such as Busch Jäger, Gira, or Merten.
Flush-mounted radios are available as analog, digital, internet radios, and optionally with Bluetooth or a docking station. They can also be interchanged with each other.
Prices start at around 100-150 euros, depending on the model and manufacturer.
It is also possible to run speaker cables to the box and later forgo the flush-mounted speaker in favor of installing stereo speakers, for example, in the ceiling.
It is also worth considering installing a flush-mounted radio in the kitchen, as people spend longer periods there and can listen to music or news while cooking or having breakfast.

We had considered that as well, but due to technical developments (such as FM reception), we decided against it. I will probably just mount a Sonos on the wall instead; it doesn’t cost much more but offers significantly more features.
And with the home automation system, I can control it from switches too.

The Play 1, for example, costs just under €200 (around $220), sounds better than the cheap plug-in speaker, can be expanded into a multiroom system, is perfectly controlled via an app with internet radio (no static!), or Spotify, and is even suitable for damp rooms like bathrooms.

Sebastian795 Sep 2016 11:29I have a GIRA flush-mounted radio in the kids’ bathroom, connected to two Visaton ceiling speakers. The same speakers are also installed in the ceiling of the master bathroom, kitchen, and garage.
However, the music is controlled differently in these areas.
