Hello everyone,
our sliding door feels a bit stiff. Of course, it’s necessary to clean the sliding system from time to time, which is planned for next week. Have you found an ideal product to lubricate or spray the sliding door tracks?
Many oils or greases tend to become sticky or gummy. I was thinking of products like Caramba, WD-40, or something similar. Do you have any recommendations?

You can of course search online, and I have done that as well, but to be honest, I find user experiences with some of these products much more helpful.

Okay, I can definitely understand that. NASA probably won’t be able to provide that. By the way, Ballistol was only available here for dog paws.

Hi,
Recently, I sprayed our large patio sliding door (about 2x2 m (6.5x6.5 ft)) with silicone spray (not silicone oil!). It now slides really smoothly. I have no idea how long it will last, but it’s been 3-4 weeks so far with no noticeable decline.

The product is inexpensive, and you don’t mess things up because it doesn’t leave an oily film or anything like that.

I need to correct myself, I meant carbon-based oil. Silicone spray is silicone oil.

I’ve tried using WD40 now; it works smoothly. Let’s see how long it lasts.

You might want to try using PTFE spray. I can recommend the one from SONAX.
