Hi!

We would really appreciate some quick ideas, as we can only present a new proposal later this week.

Unfortunately, we only noticed quite late that the developer planned a relatively short glass partition for the open shower (about 85cm (33 inches)). Now we’re a bit worried about frequent water splashes throughout half of the bathroom.

The bathroom is only 10 m² (108 sq ft) in size, measuring 2.85 x 3.55 m (9.4 x 11.6 ft). As shown in the sketch, we have two windows, which don’t exactly make the planning easier. The bathtub will be 180 x 80 cm (71 x 31 inches) and the vanity with double sinks will be 120–140 cm (47–55 inches) wide.

I already looked it up and found references to these so-called “T-walls.” However, I can’t find any practical ideas on how they could be planned in this case.

Do you have any suggestions, or is the concern about the shower partition unnecessary?

Best regards & thanks for your help!

Our builder already wants 1,600 EUR for the 180x80cm (71x31.5 inches) Kaldewei Duo Classic...

Is that for a rectangular bathtub including the faucet and installation?

Exactly, bathtub, base frame, faucet, overflow fitting.

Interested? At this great price, I can also arrange one for you.

@ypg: On the contrary, it is the only way to find the right price. It doesn’t make any sense to look at what you like on Reuter, because that just leads you astray.

That’s quite a significant amount! On the other hand, it would be too simplistic to criticize your supplier now; it likely depends on their pricing strategy or negotiations with wholesalers. Or…

… it “might” also be—please don’t misunderstand—that their initial offer to you was so low that they need to adjust it post-contract and during the construction phase to reflect more financially sustainable figures.

I have now gone through the entire thread because I wanted to count for you how many times our Gatho has basically written that he finds it pointless to ask at all, when I just wanted him to at least ask.

However, Gatho already wrote over the weekend that he is partially removing the plumbing fixtures. I am only seeing this now.

@Gatho
Will it be a corner bathtub so that you are happy with your bathroom, or will it be the rectangular one, which the bathroom actually doesn’t have enough space for?

Hi!

Sorry for the slightly delayed reply. We visited the bathroom showroom, had to talk to the developer, etc., which took a bit longer than expected. We have now agreed on the attached layout.

I have started working on the drawing for the corner bathtub we chose. I think this will work well for us. Once the bathroom is finished at some point, I will also share photos.

Many thanks for all the great help here!
Best regards
