Hello,
we are currently planning our kitchen, and most things are more or less decided. However, we are still discussing one topic in more detail, which is the seating arrangement directly at the kitchen island.
Our layout: a kitchen run along the wall, a kitchen island, and then the dining table (all in one room of about 40 m2 (430 sq ft)). I’m interested to know if anyone else has this layout and if you included seating (bar stools/counter seating) at the kitchen island, and what your experiences have been. Would you do it the same way again, or would you skip it next time due to low usage? We suspect it might not be necessary since the dining table is right there anyway, and somehow a straight kitchen island just looks better...
Best regards

Our setup looks similar to Sigi’s (once we finally decide on the bar stools ).
We deliberately chose—not unlike what is often seen—not to install the cooktop on the (half) island in order to achieve the widest possible continuous countertop area there.
The right cabinet can be opened from the countertop side, but it only stores items that are used very rarely.

I almost thought we had the same fully automatic coffee machine, see #27.
Bar stools: it took us almost 2 years to find some we liked.
