Hello,

Has anyone here installed vinyl flooring themselves, and if so, how did it go?

We want to install vinyl planks in our house and have already chosen them. I will contact the seller again soon, but I would be happy to read some personal experiences here!

Has anyone had experience with Ter Hürne vinyl flooring? We really like it, and it matches our tiles very well.

This is our choice:

Ter Hürne Vinyl Straight Choice Oak Canberra grey-brown D05
Plank flooring, synchronized deep emboss, 4V edge, 1212.6 x 171.2 x 5 mm (approximately 47.8 x 6.7 x 0.2 inches)
Wear class 23/33/42
1 pack = 1.661 m² (17.88 sq ft)
Cost about 32 euros per m² (approximately $30 per sq ft)

And this is the one we have planned for the upper floor:

Meister Designfloor Silent Touch DD300 Caramel Oak 695321
150 x 216 x 5 mm (approximately 5.9 x 8.5 x 0.2 inches)

If anyone knows anything about these two companies, I would be very grateful.

Since I’m currently reading Ter Hürne, I just came across the Multi Sense Avatara flooring from Ter Hürne.
Does anyone know it?
I really liked it, and it’s neither vinyl, laminate, nor hardwood.
Does anyone have information about it?

Take a look at bricoflor for the avatar-Floor-multisense flooring, where you can find information about it. I have not had the flooring in my hands myself, so I cannot comment on it.

Thank you very much.
I’ve held it in my hand before and initially thought it was a vinyl floor.
I’m mainly looking for someone who has already installed this type of flooring.
So far, I haven’t found much information online, except on the Ter Hürne websites.

Hello,

I have the same question. There are also options available today through building material suppliers, and we liked the Multisense flooring from Ter Huerne, which is reasonably priced as well. The only difference I have found so far is the HD printing and the polymer coating (varnish) on the Multisense flooring compared to the PU (polyurethane) wear layer on vinyl flooring. However, I cannot say whether the latter has any advantages or disadvantages.

If anyone has experience with this, I would be very interested to hear about it.

I just visited a flooring specialty store.

-All vinyl flooring comes from China.
-European companies then bond the vinyl layer from China onto the substrate board.
-If you want to install click vinyl, you should lay down an underlay film beforehand. Not because of moisture, but to allow the floor to expand and contract more easily along its length.
-Regarding odor and toxins: This can happen when you buy vinyl flooring made with or from recycled materials. It apparently doesn’t occur with new vinyl products.

My current favorite is from KWG Antigua Infinity Red Pear.

Has anyone used this vinyl flooring or any vinyl flooring from KWG Antigua Infinity (I’m not quite sure what Antigua Infinity refers to—maybe a design series?) and can share their experience?
Does the floor start to develop an odor after prolonged exposure to direct sunlight and/or sunlight through a window? The room is exposed to quite strong sunlight.

Has anyone installed a reddish-brown floor and can provide feedback—maybe even a photo to show the brightness and color?
Are there any other things I should be aware of that I might have overlooked?
The flooring costs €40 per m² (approximately $40 per square yard), and a quick online search suggests that this is a fair price.

P.S. For anyone considering buying flooring online: I was really shocked by how different the color looked in person compared to the pictures.
I was honestly surprised.
