Hello everyone,

as the question suggests, I find it surprising that IKEA kitchens are quite affordable. How is the workmanship, meaning the quality? And what about the IKEA hinges? Do IKEA kitchens last a long time?

Best regards

It’s not just the drawer slides, but also the drawer bottoms and the side panels...

How is that done? No, that is usually nonsense. These units only have two levels, are expensive, have a low load capacity, are difficult to clean, and the worst part is that they often cause other cabinets to be divided into smaller sections, resulting in more and narrower cabinets in the end – which is ALWAYS a loss of storage space.

Just a question: What on earth do you store in your kitchen?
With the LeMans, you can load up to 25 kg (55 lbs) per shelf. My pots definitely never weigh that much.

I prefer the LeMans over a regular carousel. What else is there?

Dead corner and ideally 80cm (32 inches) wide pull-out base cabinets on both sides

And that's supposed to be less wasted space?

You can definitely fit what is usually stored in a corner carousel for pots and pans into one, or at most two, pull-out drawers in an 80cm (31.5 inches) wide cabinet. It is also more convenient to take items out of a drawer. The mechanisms used in carousels, magic corners, and similar solutions are expensive and quite delicate.

For me, that argues against these types of cabinets, so I prefer a blind corner instead.

I trust the mechanisms in Ikea carousels the least. The low price of these base cabinets doesn’t come without reason. I have converted several of them into standard cabinets because customers found replacement parts for the mechanism simply too expensive.
