Hello,
we want to install a central ventilation system (mechanical ventilation with heat recovery) and are currently looking into different manufacturers. However, the market is quite confusing, so I am interested in hearing about your experiences with various brands.
I would find app control quite useful. It’s not a must-have, but it would be nice. Ultimately, functionality, ease of cleaning, reliability, and electricity consumption should be the main priorities.
Do you have any tips on what we should definitely pay attention to during installation?

It is different with, for example, the rare but existing solid wood house – according to my uncle (carpenter), this should be avoided there.

For a piano or grand piano, 30% relative humidity over a long period would be disastrous. The same applies to other wooden instruments. Also not ideal for antique furniture and similar items.
<= Helios with enthalpy exchanger – but not yet operational.
All rooms have KNX humidity sensors, and if the humidity gets too high, the bypass is simply activated.

When it comes to the ventilation system, it is important to ensure that the filters can be purchased affordably and replaced easily. In our case, we didn’t have a choice—we have to use cartridge filters. The advantage is that they can’t be installed incorrectly. The downside is that they are significantly more expensive than a meter of filter fleece.
We once lived for a day without the ventilation system because I forgot to plug it back in after cleaning. You could immediately notice how everything became damp; water gathered on the inside of the window, and the indoor climate was far from comfortable. It felt unusual, so I checked what was wrong. Once I plugged it back in, after a few hours of full operation, everything was perfect again.
We dry our soaking wet laundry entirely in the upstairs bathroom without ventilating. Apart from right after hanging up fresh laundry, the room stays dry. After hanging fresh laundry for a few hours, I briefly open the window for 1–2 minutes; the moist warm air disappears quickly, and the room does not get damp again.
I wouldn’t build a house without such a system anymore!

I have also read and heard quite a bit about Hoval. Two friends have installed one or are going to install one. In my case, it will probably come down to Hoval as well, even if it is likely to be more expensive. What price did you get quoted for how many square meters (square feet)?
