Hello,
I received the construction drawings from our home builder and noticed that some measurements differ from the architect’s plans. Most of the time, the measurements are a few centimeters (inches) smaller.
Is this normal, or should I insist that the measurements from the architect’s plans be followed?
Best regards,
Jochen

However, we are building with a prefab house company.

What exactly do you mean by GÜ? General contractor => A company that basically delivers your house "turnkey."

But we are building with a prefab house company. So yes.
Often the drawings are adjusted to the "grid" that the companies prefer to work with.
For our solid construction, this was a 25cm (10 inch) grid. The bricks were 50cm (20 inches) wide or half that at 25cm (10 inches), which means there is very little waste.
Just talk to your contact person (which is why they are called that).

Jochen20157 Mar 2016 11:25Ah yes! However, it doesn’t look like a grid to me. The dimensions are too "irregular" for that.
Of course, I will clarify this with the internal office/contact person as soon as they have the drawings with the marked measurements in hand.
Thank you for the responses. It’s great to be able to discuss with people who know more about the subject than I do.

In our solid construction, this was a 25cm (10 inches) grid. The bricks were 50cm (20 inches) or half 25cm (10 inches) wide, which minimizes waste. If such brick dimensions exist, the architect should be aware of them and plan accordingly.

Is this normal, or should I insist that the dimensions from the architect’s drawings be used? Basically, I would expect the execution plans to accurately reflect what the architect designed. In some cases, dimensions may vary due to different reference points or similar reasons. I would also expect the architect to review the execution drawings. The best approach is to write down all points you don’t understand and clarify them with both the architect and the person responsible for the execution planning. There are no stupid questions!

If there is such a brick size, the architect should know it and plan accordingly. I agree with you. That was also the case for us!

Absolutely correct. The subject is too complex for a layperson to understand everything immediately. But people who ask questions can be helped.
