Hello dear forum members,

Since the new energy saving regulation will come into effect on 01.04.16, I am interested in how high the monthly additional costs should be estimated for a KfW55 house. This relates to a single-family home with approximately 120-130 m² (1300-1400 sq ft) of living space and 3 people (2 adults & 1 child).
Maybe someone has already gathered experience in this regard. I would be happy to hear from you.

Best regards,
Daniel

I once noted the following average values (unfortunately I no longer remember the source) – of course, these vary from municipality to municipality, depending on consumption, provider, etc.:

All values per month:
Property tax: 20 cents per square meter of living space per month (greater variation depending on the multiplier and region; timber frame construction is about 10% cheaper than solid construction if properly registered...)
Water: 7 euros per person
Sewage: 10 euros per person
Electricity: you probably know better, 50–90 euros depending on number of people and equipment
Waste collection fees: 15–30 euros per household
Chimney sweep (if required): 6–8 euros
Home insurance: 12–20 euros
Then also TV license fee, satellite, DSL, etc.
For heating including domestic hot water, with KfW 70/55 standards, I would estimate 40–80 euros/month (40 euros for ground source heat pump, 80 euros for district heating, gas or air/water heat pumps somewhere in between...)
For ventilation systems, there may also be filters that can be costly...

That sounds like saving in the wrong places to me! I would expect at least 30 euros, since you should insure your most valuable asset against all risks.

So, once again on the topic of KFW55 energy costs.
190 sqm (2,045 sq ft); moved in February.
Just took a look at our heating system’s consumption: 356 kWh electricity → 88 €.
Currently 38 kWh electricity in 3.5 days → forecast: 336 kWh electricity (unless it gets warmer, of course).

That sounds good. Hopefully we will move from our apartment to the new house soon.

Received our electricity bill recently, 5,800 kWh consumption (83 sqm (893 sq ft) 3-room apartment built in 1974, 2+1 occupants)
Unfortunately, hot water is heated with a boiler and instant water heater.

Oh, I see – this is only for heating.
So far in March, hot water consumption has been 4 kWh, and in February it was 36 kWh.
