Hello dear forum members,
Since the new energy saving regulation will come into effect on 01.04.16, I am interested in how high the monthly additional costs should be estimated for a KfW55 house. This relates to a single-family home with approximately 120-130 m² (1300-1400 sq ft) of living space and 3 people (2 adults & 1 child).
Maybe someone has already gathered experience in this regard. I would be happy to hear from you.
Best regards,
Daniel

Heating plus domestic hot water will probably be between 20 and 30 € per month. The consumption depends on you, as does the electricity provider. Or do you use pellets or...

We only pay just over €50 per month for about 300 sqm (3,229 sq ft) of heated area and domestic hot water for 5 people. The house is somewhere between 55 and 70 (built new two years ago). Nobody feels cold either – room temperature is just under 22°C (72°F).
I simply broke down our consumption (geothermal).
That’s why I’m asking the original poster how they are heating.

Geothermal energy generally has the lowest operating costs (excluding initial investment) but it is not the most widely used option. I think it might be better to be a bit more generous with the estimate. Even if I assume €20 more than your projected €30, that would be €240 per year (if you want to use geothermal heating, you can expect to heat for several years with that). However, I believe €40-50 is a more realistic figure.

That’s why I asked the original poster how they heat.Since we are only considering building a new house at this point and currently still rent, it was more of a general question. We haven’t yet thought in detail about the heating method.
But thank you already for your messages. They can at least serve as a rough benchmark for later.
