Baumhaus.Bau16 Feb 2016 09:44We have our kitchen mostly finished, and our kitchen planner recommended AEG appliances.
Since I have never dealt with the technology and features of kitchen appliances before, I’m hoping to hear some experiences here.
The planned appliances are:
- AEG induction cooktop 60 cm (24 inches) HKM 65400 X-B
- AEG dishwasher 60 cm (24 inches) FAVORIT 55310 Vl0
- AEG compact solo steam oven KT8403101M
- AEG built-in oven COMPETENCE BE7004101M
I will be looking into these myself in the coming days, but maybe some of you already have experience with these devices (or their predecessors).
I’m interested to know if there have been any issues with the appliances or if you would recommend something else for a similar price.

Unfortunately, I can’t provide any information about the AEG appliances, but:
I find myself frustrated almost daily with my 60cm (24 inches) cooktop. Sooner or later, I will probably switch to an 80cm (31.5 inches) or 90cm (35.5 inches) model. There is enough space for it.
My advice: If you have the room and cook frequently, choose a larger cooktop.

Sebastian7916 Feb 2016 13:04AEG is definitely not a high-quality brand, but I like it and we have almost everything from them except the refrigerator.
And I am very satisfied with it...
Make sure to choose a cooktop wider than 60cm (24 inches) – we initially had that size as well, but now we have 90cm (35 inches), which is finally the right fit!

We also have AEG appliances in our kitchen and have been completely satisfied so far.
The vegetable compartment in the refrigerator is really great. Fruits and vegetables stay fresh there for a very long time.
We also have a 90cm (35 inch) induction cooktop – I wouldn’t choose a smaller one.

....Since I have never really dealt with the technology and features of kitchen appliances before.... I would recommend looking into them carefully based on your specific needs and preferences. It is difficult to give general recommendations because everyone chooses according to their own requirements. Just check out various appliances in showrooms, touch them, and try them out.

however, I find the Neff cooktops with the TwistPad much more comfortable to use than the touch sliders I would also recommend that; in my opinion, the advantage of the TwistPad is faster and easier control of the cooktop, even when you have wet hands. In contrast, touch sliders tend to respond sluggishly if there are grease splashes or your hands are wet.
I would also support the recommendation to choose a wider cooktop. With large pots and pans, a 60cm (24 inch) cooktop quickly reaches its limits. For example, I find the Neff TTT6860N interesting.
